LAND Seafood is our newest restaurant that will open on Oct. 31, 2017 on the first floor of 100BANCH in Shibuya. 100BANCH is a collaborative office & event space produced by us Cafe Company Inc., Panasonic Inc., Loftwork Inc., and Tokyu Corporation.
100BANCH was built in a renovated warehouse along Shibuya River. A collaborative group of Cafe Company, Panasonic, Loftwork, and Tokyu Corporation brought this building back to live as a multi-purpose facility. The second floor GARAGE shared office / coworking space and the third floor LOFT event space opened earlier this year in July, and now LAND Seafood will occupy the first floor KITCHEN area. On the 100th anniversary of the founding of Panasonic, 100BANCH looks to create a new future for the next 100 years.
LAND Seafood, a new Mediterranean seafood restaurant
In 2001, Cafe Company opened its first cafe, SUS - Shibuya Underpass Society, underneath the Tokyu Toyoko Line train tracks leading from Shibuya to Daikanyama. As these train tracks were schedule to be demolished, this shop was only a temporary one and closed in 2005. Now, in almost the same spot on the south side of Shibuya Station, we will be opening LAND Seafood, our newest Mediterranean seafood restaurant. It will connect the past of Shibuya with the future and the next 100 years.
It is little known that there is a river that runs directly underneath Shibuya Station called Shibuya River. Though over the years it has been mostly covered up by the city, during the Edo period in Japan, this river served as a major transportation route to bring in fresh seafood from Tokyo Bay into the city center. Now, as the southern part of Shibuya Station is being renovated to once again open up this river, LAND Seafood will celebrate Tokyo's past by again serving as a gateway to some of the best seafood in Japan.

LAND Seafood will open on Oct. 31, 2017 and will occupy the first floor KITCHEN section of 100BANCH.
Cafe Company is collaborating with Uoriki to provided only the freshest seafood transported in daily from the port of Odawara. Dishes will have a varied international flavor inspired by the cooking methods of the Mediterranean. The LAND Platter will have uni pudding, sea snails, horse mackerel, lobster, clams, and other high-grade ingredients. Other menu items include Ise Lobster Catalana, Kinmedai Moroccan Bouillabaisse, Ikura & Clam Pasta, as well as 100% vegan desserts.
The interior design was created by Cafe Company's design team and will fully take advantage of the wide-open spaces and high ceilings of the renovated warehouse space. At over 100 tsubo (approx. 3500 sq. ft.) with 100 seats, there will be an open kitchen situated at the center of the restaurants, along with sofa seating and an expansive bar area.

Founded in 1930, Uoriki is a company that has been provided fresh seafood to Japan and the world for a long time. Always sourcing directly from fishermen from throughout Japan, Uoriki has created a seafood network and transportation system to get the freshest seafood to any city in the world.

100BANCH (in Japanese pronounced Hyaku Banch) is a new collaborative work and idea space with the goal of creating a new future for the next 100 years.
The 100BANCH operating team has made an open competition to gather young entrepreneurs who have ideas that they want to turn into companies and movements to better society. The 2nd floor GARAGE space is a shared office / coworking space where these entrepreneurs will work and the 3rd floor LOFT area is an event space to connect their ideas to the public.
The are 20 teams of entrepreneurs who are granted admission to the GARAGE on a rotating basis.
The LOFT area will hold events, presentations, and workshops lead by 100BANCH mentors or workers.
